"Think Wisely. Build Trust. Share Success."

The philosopher Aristotle wrote that a city is "a partnership for living well." This partnership is dependent upon communities developing their citizens for leadership and service. Leaders initiate. Ultimately, this is what sets them apart. Others may share their vision, their passion, and their capacities for technical and financial management. They may excel in their contributions of knowledge and expertise. Leaders, though, initiate. They take the first step of responsibility to create a community where all citizens may live well.

Citizen Initiative's primary focus is the encouragement and equipping of citizens for collaborative leadeship inititive with other citizens and organizations for a better community.

Citizen Initiative
A presentation on how individual citizens can make a difference in their community. The presentation will provide a practical, inspiring overview of a successful citizen initiative to illustrate how any citizen can make a difference in their community. Included in the presentation is information on:

  • How to envision and organize a Citizen Initiative project.
  • How to organize a leadership team.
  • How to develop a successful grassroots, word of mouth promotion campaign.
  • How to find and involve sponsoring organizations.
  • How to develop the resources needed.
  • How to work with local media.

Citizen Initiative Workshop
A Citizen Initiative Workshop is an interactive version of the presentation. Participants will identify an area of concern or interest that they will use as the context for learning. This workshop is ideal for groups who already have an initiative in mind and are lacking in the knowledge and experience for organizing a Citizen Initiative.

Either type of presentation is appropriate for citizens, schools, congregations, local government agencies, and community organizations.
